Costume Exhibit

We're looking for a few good costumes! For the Denvention 3 costume exhibit:

Inspired By

  • Have you ever stood staring at the registration form for a costume contest and not known whether to check Original or Recreation?
  • Have you ever seen the work of a trained, professional, and well-paid costume designer and thought to yourself, I can do better?
  • Have you ever walked down a convention hallway and left fandom slackjawed and then laughing in your wake? (in a good way.)

If you answered yes! to any of the above, then Denvention 3 exhibits wants you, or rather your costume. We want to see how you put your own personal twist on the books, movies, TV shows etc. you have been Inspired By

It doesn't matter if it was for a competition or the hallway, if it was just for fun, old or new. (But we would love to get some older costumes.) Pull out your costume of Eddie Munster as the Green Lantern or the Legal Alien. Dust it off. Show it off!

Share your inspiration and twisted vision with the rest of fandom by sending a description and/or jpeg photo of the costume, what inspired it, and your contact information to .

Or snail mail it to: Rebecca "Randi" Tinkham
c/o Denvention 3
P.O. Box 1349
Denver, CO 80201

If possible we would like you to mail it to Rebecca prior to the convention so that the dress forms can be custom fit.

Rebecca Tinkham is a professional textile conservator and will care for your pieces as she does any museum artifact.

We want to show as many of your creations as we can, but space is limited. Final decisions on acceptance for the exhibit will be based on representing a wide variety of costumes and is the decision of the curator.
